The first volume of the Alaska Young Fishermen’s Almanac was published in late 2017, and we’re still flipping through the pages. The Almanac captures the ingenuity, humor, persistence, passion and talent of Alaska’s rising fishermen.
A huge thank you to the Alaska Humanities Forum for supporting this project, to the many contributors for sharing so vividly the grind and gift that is the fishing way of life, and to our fleet of volunteers who carried this project from the very first inkling of an idea to an actual dog-eared copy sitting on the shelf.
Volume I can be found at the following locations:
Homer, AK- Homer Bookstore, Oodalolly, and Nomar
Kodiak,AK- The Islander Bookshop
Anchorage, AK- Catch 49
Dillingham, AK- South Fork Gallery
PS. We’re still admiring Michaela Goade’s beautiful work designing the front cover. ❤️
